Taking Family Pictures

Trying to get a good family portrait with three kids all under the age of 5, is quite a task. Especially if you are not an expert photographer. I love photography and admire those who are well versed and practiced in photography. Once we are all settled I plan on taking a photography class of some kind. It is also difficult when your editing software if just a free program you found online. I use Photoscape and I do like it, but I know there are other photo editing software programs out there that are much more capable than what I have. Anyway, taking a family photo by your self with no aid and three squirmy kids is somewhat daunting.

And the cherry on top is my belly... It isn't quite big enough to be a cute baby bump, but it is noticeable. I think I just look a little too round in the middle. Because of this bump, my wardrobe is even more limited, trying to coordinate clothes was made difficult. Also, half the kids clothes are waiting for us at our next home halfway across the country!

We waited for some spring green and flowers, once they showed up we decided to undertake the family photo project. We decided we would just go out every Saturday until we got some that looked decent. Our first attempt was not too successful...

We got some good candid shots of the kids and one possible candidate for our new family photo...

Why is she so beautiful?!

LOVE. THESE. KIDS.

The only family photo candidate from the session! Hannah is the only kid that looks normal!
The next Saturday, last Saturday, turned up a few more promising photos. It was humid, so hair went a little crazy. Here is what we got...

Seriously?!
Almost! Best we got of all three.
Peter finally showed a smile, there go the girls!

"I'm not going to smile, I'm not going to smile."
Caught you Peter!

Best friends :)
First pose of the day and we got a keeper!
Peter! Silly kid, he was giving us such a hard time.
Same photo as above with a blurred background. Not sure what is best...
I think we'll call it good for now. We only have two weekends left here in Mountain Home, AR and we would rather enjoy a few sites before moving than try another photo shoot :).

Easter 2015

We had fun celebrating Easter this year.

Saturday we joined a local Baptist church in their celebrations. We hunted Easter eggs, ate some candy, snow cones, and popcorn. There were carnival-like booths set up with activities for kids, bounce houses, and even pony rides! My kids, for some reason, do not like to touch real animals... sad day. They love to read stories of animals and see them in the zoo, but they will not touch! So, alas, I did not get the satisfaction of watching my kids ride a pony... Hannah would have but we weren't sure if they would take a 20 month old on a pony ride... I wish I could ride a pony :(. But despite the lack of pony riding, we had a great time with all the other festivities.

Saturday evening we dyed eggs. Peter and Evelyn were old enough to enjoy dying eggs this year. Hannah thought it was fun, but mostly she just wanted to hold the dyed eggs. Don't worry, a few eggs survived the process with out cracks ;).

Easter Sunday was beautiful. I LOVE Spring! I love the reason for the season.

My mother sent all the kids Easter attire! They looked pretty spiffy if you ask me :).

Oh, and the Easter Bunny did visit this house. He went light on the candy this year because I asked him to :). Here are the kids with their new bunnies!
