The weather here in Mountain Home, Arkansas has been beautiful! The past two weekends we took advantage of the beautiful weather and enjoyed seeing some of the sites before we move. We visited Bull Shoals State Park, Bull Shoals Dam, Gaston's Visitors Center, Gaston's Resort, and two shores of Bull Shoals Lake. The water was a little chill but since it was almost 80 degrees with humidity making it feel a little warmer, you didn't mind. It didn't slow the kids down one bit. They had so much fun splashing around in the cool water with the sand and rocks under their feet.

The water was high, they are standing on a sidewalk! |
The kids had only been in the water a few minutes when I had to rush in and save Evelyn. She stepped off the underwater sidewalk and couldn't get herself out of the water. Panicked me for a moment, I sprinted to her as quick as I could. She was fine and not traumatized at all, but we were both thoroughly wet.

Peter asked David to take a picture of him kicking the water. Funny kid! |
Peter said this at the end of our last lake experience, "I love going to the lake! It's a good place to go in the summer time and splash around and relax." So true Mr. Peter! He is such a fun kid and a great big brother.
It is breathtakingly beautiful here in the Ozark Mountains. They call them mountains, though their not really mountains, more like glorified hills compared to the Sierra Nevada Mountain Ranges in California where I grew up. Nevertheless, real mountains or not, they are beautiful! It is so green and lush out here. Wildflowers everywhere. We have sure been charmed by the beauty of this land.
